Are you quilting this weekend? Sept. 9-11

Good Morning Quilters! I am getting an early start to the weekend. When I finish the laundry today, I am planning to hang out in my sewing room for the rest of weekend. Let's see how that goes! We don't have any plans as of right now.

At this point in time, I am happy to pull out projects that have been hiding in my sewing room. I am having trouble staying on task though. I want to start several projects but know I have to finish some before digging into anything new. Are you a quilter who feels guilty for starting a new project before the current one is finished? I am, but that doesn't always stop me. lol

What are you quilting or sewing this weekend?

I don't have any specific weekend plans, either. DH has built me a larger ironing surface that can sit on top of my sewing cabinet. I was going to buy batting to pad it, but I have an awful lot of small pieces of batting so I may try sewing some together to use for that instead. And I need to get some muslin to cover it. I went to JoAnn's last Sunday afternoon to get muslin but didn't even go all the way inside - I could see the checkout line was stretched down the center of the store, and no way was I going to get in that mess! :)

I have been working all week with those 16 patches I had. Instead of plain sashing, i opted to make the design called Hugs and Kisses. Lots of sewing. So that is my plan for the weekend, more of the same.

No sewing for me this weekend, it's our 28th wedding anniversary on Sunday 9/11 and we're going to Disneyland for the weekend! That just might motivate me to finish the Olaf quilt when I get home! One can only hope!

Congratulations Carolnv! Have fun at Disneyland. DH and I celebrated our 47th last Tuesday.

Thank Lindaoh and a belated happy one to you as well!

Happy anniversaries! Going to Disney sounds like fun.

Tomorrow, my friend is coming over to help sandwich the quilt I am finishing for her son's wedding in October. It has been an interesting project that has become mine, because she really isn't a quilter! It is approximately 100x100, so it will be a challenge. I have also been starting to cut some of the 2017 lotto blocks ... woohoo.

I'm up in Oregon tending to Mom. I drive by my favorite fabric store each trip and this time hit the jackpot. They took about half their bolts, pulled the cardboard form out and called them all flat folds. Tables covered with them by color. Only $4.99 yard. I walked out with about 12 half yards for applique but might stop on way home as well. By then I should be able to think of some justification for buying more, right? Just having a sack of fabric in the car to fondle makes my trip easier.

Linda, I don't think I could afford to stop in there too often. $4.99 is unheard of these days.

I'm not exactly quilting, but finishing up odds and ends (re-folding, dusting, pressing tops/blocks, sorting scraps ...) but I guess that counts too.

Touching fabric counts, grammyp! Even thinking about fabric ! I have most of the top put together and now I am dithering about a border. Yes? No? I will have to sleep on it.

I just got back from my mom's and the garage sale from hell. :) We sold about half the stuff that we had put in it which is good considering how much was in it. It was miserably hot. My face and scalp are sunburned. The Battle at Bristol, TN/VA Tech football game at the speedway is tonight, so traffic up there was crazy. I was glad that I was coming south tonight instead of going north.

Sharon, I am going to do the Be My Neighbor BOM too. I found it last week and printed out the first pattern but haven't started it. Today I made a table runner (still needs quilting) and a pillowcase.
