Hi,

I've not worked with concrete before and am trying to DIY some artwork that I plan to hang on a wall.

Based on some reading and watching YouTube videos I've learned a little about mixing concrete, rebars, form work, board form concrete, stamped concrete and moulds. I've created a 31 inch by 22 inch form and have weaved rattan which I plan to create an impression on the concrete.

Where I'm stuck is:
1) I've created a form with a plywood backing. My rattan weave is now pressed against the plywood backing. I plan to pour concrete over this in hopes of creating an impression taking up the weave and the fine grain of the rattan. Would this be a better choice than say stamping? There isn't much instructional information on stamping concrete, except that it should be left to the pros. Is there any advice you could offer?
2) I'm planning to hang the concrete artwork on a concrete wall. What is the best way of doing this? I'm looking at doing a depth of 1.5 inches concrete with metal rebars and plasticisers in my concrete to strengthen it. I read that the size of this artwork would weight anywhere between 40-60kgs. I'm wondering if I should consider using clay rather than concrete.
3) how can I achieve a consistent concrete colour? I've seen some videos with patches of a whiter concrete when formed.
