Exterior door options and thresholds for extra thick jambs/walls??

We just did a basement dig out and installed a new (thick) foundation -- I need to find a fiberglass exterior door that fits a 12.5" jamb (twice as thick as normal jambs). The door swings in, so I'm told simply putting in a jamb extension isn't a great option in terms of maximizing door integrity and weatherproofing. I also need a metal sill that spans this depth.

Various door companies are telling me that it is impossible to find a door that has that thickness and my contractor is saying that he isn't able to make a metal sill that deep since he doesn't deal with metal work. To possibly further complicate issues I am also looking to get all hardware/metal to be in bronze (not silver).

Does anyone have any suggestions?? I doubt I am the first person who has run into this issue of extra deep jambs for interior swinging doors and would be grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance!

I have a 'real' stone home. The walls are about 12" thick. You need to build the jam up with the wood of your choice - cedar / redwood / pine / pressure treated. If you want, wrap it with aluminum. The sides of my jam are pine, and painted white, the same color as the door. You may be able to use a stair tread for a sill.

The entrance door swings into your living space, the storm door swings out, and there is about an 6" - 8" space between the door and the storm door.

My sill is a 2x10 pressure treated, and I stained it.

You might be able to find a metal fabrication shop that can fabricate a threshhold. I have never seen one 12" wide.

Fabricating a 12&1/2" wide jamb is not really difficult for most finish carpenters.

You should be able to find a steel frame to meet your needs.

The exterior jamb reveal on a masonry wall is normally finished in masonry. Then a normal-size door buck is set to the indoor side. It can be nailed to pressure treated wood bucks made to nominal wall thickness for the finish jambs. The finish exterior threshold can be stone, brick or poured concrete, sloped to shed water; the door unit threshold sits on top of it.
