There there is a lot of pattern in your granite, I'd recommend a plain subway tile in a creamy white to match the main color of the counter. And then a grout a few shades darker.

I'd do a glass subway tile in a cream color. Glass looks less heavy and more airy than ceramic subway tiles - good for a small kitchen.
