Blenheimnewzealand, I can see how acrylic furniture would work in my small space, but no, it's not my style... Also I always thought it would be so hard to keep pristine? Distressed wood is so much more forgiving!

I like the layout of the first photo tho, I wonder if I could have an ottoman like that, maybe a vey low one that fit under the coffee table? Convenient extra sitting.

Oh and I love nordic style also, the blush grey copper is so lovely and sophisticated, but I think I've gone in another direction, which one I'm not quite sure yet, and that's why it is so great to get all the ideas here.

Thanks Lola, I did look at ikea a while ago and was thinking about the ivar system with close doors or with both doors and open shelving, I will paint it, but another color choice headache! Or maybe same colour as walls so it disappears?

I like the configuration of the third image. Make sure you use some wood paste to fill in all the little holes, they really cheapens the look.

No, I think your frames are fine as they are. The focus is on the art, as it should be. The ocean painting is lovely and soft, the black frame is too harsh.

OMG! There is just something I love about your home.....simplistic charm!!!! There would be times I would suggest redoing the bookshelves, but I actually love it. Love the few details on the top and the art over and the piles. Love it! The table is wonderful and yellow is happy, just like the rug in the kitchen. At first I wondered about turning the couch to face the window and separate spaces, but then that wall might be empty, I don't know. Just a nice vibe in this space.

Initial photo of chairs looked neon lemon-lime. Coffee table legs are navy? and I thought that fabric also had navy [my eyes! maybe it's black]....

in other words, Desert Flower was a possible direction, though colors are 'off'...

So if your kitchen has window blinds, a valance of Santa Maria would be striking... not fussy imo.

I'd repeat the depth of blue legs somewhere, like this one.

To answer some of your questions, the coffee tables legs are a very dark grey, (dulux domino) and the chairs are definitely yellow, Taubmans beach ball, light and sunny. That's the colour I should have a little more off in my accessories I think, currently painting some pot plants with it!

Industria: the rawness and simplicity, the clean lines, material like rusty metal, concrete and weathered wood, the salvaged and repurposed aspect of it.

Coastal for the light and serene colour palette, the driftwood, the use of cotton and linen, pebble, shells etc, definitely more on the side of a beach shack or fisherman cottage than an Hampton mansion...

The beach is 5min from where I live, I'd like to bring it in a bit more but in a subtle way.

As for the french aspect, well, I'm originally from France and yet it is a little more difficult to define! Just a few touches that remind more of motherland, think pariaian cafes..

I've only moved in a year ago and spend time most time renovating, it's only now that I can think about decorating, and it's heart warming to hear that I'm not doing too bad!

Altho I love industrial, you need a certain type of room to create that style succesfully.

Yes to the blue wall, I have just painted it. The other walls are dulux hog bristle half . It was there when I moved in, I think I should go lighter don't you think?

Hey LostinReno, no, not a lot of progress, I have lowered the paintings and added some yellow touches like cushion etc and that's about it.

I had to do some work in my bathroom and that pretty took care of the money I had saved for the new sectional... Oh well, at least the bathroom looks nice!!

And there were so many lovely comments about my room here that I'm now feel quite happy about it :))
