What type of stain or flooring is that?

    Looks like maple flooring, sanded, stained and finished on site. Maple doesn't take evenly, hence the "blotchy" appearance. Stain is probably something like Jacobean or Dark Walnut.

    It is birch flooring with a dark stain, 3 clear coats for protective finish.
