I can not make out the measurements. Also, what do you consider appropriate for a 4200 square foot house? How many square feet do you want? Or is it just a certain amount of linear hanging space you are looking for?

Cami: Thank you for your response. I'm not sure the correct size, but we do need quite a bit of hanging and shelving. We are currently in temporary housing and the closets are about the size noted on the plans...they are too small. 1st closet is 5.6 x 6.6, Master bath is 13.8 x 10.1, Shower is 4.6 x 6.7 , second closet is 7.2 x 4.9. I'm very open to advice. Thank you.

I see potential if you get rid of the bath tub and focus maybe on a more elaborate shower. If you do that, there may be potential in switching the water closet (toilet room) to the other side of the walkway (where the first walk-in closet is but obviously much smaller). This will shift the walkway as well. Then, where the water closet, shower, shower entrance, and vanity are now; put your closet. (Getting rid of the master entry would give even more space there, but you forfeit both that entry and the linen.) Then the shower would go where the back closet is now, and a long vanity between that and the new water closet wall. Depending on how it all lines up you may be able to get rid of the 45 wall, but I am a fan of 45s. I can't make out the dimensions enough to be sure how it will all piece together exactly.

Sooo much wasted space. And do you actually use and like the enormous garden tub?

I would make the entire East side, including the proposed toilet room, one huge closet. The other door would open to a more streamlined bathroom with shower, freestanding tub, and double vanity. Separating the closet from the bath and its humidity.

In a home that size, you should look for at least 20 to 24 feet of hanging closet space. I can't get from your drawings, but I think it's at least that, based on average toilet room size.
