The style of sofa is good for the room IMO, but I think this particular one is too similar to the chair you have there - black frame, off-white upholstery. Too sort of matching.

Go for it! Then decide if you like the armchair or not.... :-)

Nice sitting room when someone comes for tea. Not what I would call a comfortable room to stay in for any length of time.

Very pretty but I agree with first statement. Would be much more inviting and practical with lower upholstered arms.

Why not try this all white leather sofa from wayfair.com (https://www.wayfair.com/Beliani-Oslo-3-Piece-Leather-Living-Room-Set-BLNI1035.html) that I just searched while looking at your living room. You can recline on this sofa but you may have to remove your old French chair as this is more contemporary but your room has a contemporary or modern setting.

Do you have a family room? Or is this the only sitting room?

If this is a formal living room, great. If this is your only relaxing space, no.

The chair you show is the only comfortable lounging seating.

It looks perfect! Matches the chair in color and texture but throws in those sharp angles that contrast the chair's more tradition curves.

I love everything you've done so far in the room, but I think the sofa's a bit too matchy, plus it doesn't look comfortable. I would look for something in the same colors and fabrics in a transitional style, or maybe a Chesterfield.

Love it. If there's room for a footstool or pouff that would make it a space for lounging as will as a formal reception room

It is beautiful but not very comfortable..even if just sitting and visiting your guest have nowhere to put thier arm with the high sides..if this is just a showplace type room that really won't be used very often it is fine..but I think you have so many other options that are more functional and practical and can be beautiful...

Thats my opinion too... definitely does not look comfortable at all... hopefully your able to find it in a store and see and sit in it first... or get alot of pillows for your back..

As a spot for cocktails before a formal dinner party, it would make for an ideal room. I think a French chair can fit in almost anywhere, so take the sofa in any direction you like. For more seating consider adding a versatile backless sofa too. How are you going to use the room?

Whatever sofa you select, I would recommend it not multiple seat cushions.

I think a tufted sofa with a sloping arm and single seat cushion from Southern Furniture could work well.
