Personally I would do no rug in the eating area. Easier to keep clean.

If so I might consider a black boucle' jute to go with the dhurrie.

Have you checked availability of that rug? I was just cruising the Aussie IKEA store and it said on that rug limited availability in selected stores until Oct 24 in the US. Not sure if they are discontinuing it? The new catalogue is out.

I remember before my first wedding, I was a girl very interested in photography, and I discussed the possible wedding dresses with the photographer. She told me not to choose any shot taffeta or similar, as it would flare in the photos. I find the same happens with photos of this rug.

In the article I posted, some comments said the posters got sick looking at it, but others were not affected.
