I painted a large portion of my home in BM's decorator white earlier this year, it had been a medium toned griege before that. It was somewhat of a shock at first!! I was disappointed a little that in my home it showed that I needed to repaint more of the wood trim work too, I'm still not totally done, LOL! (Some of it looked good, other areas had yellowed more than I had realized before I painted the walls such a stark white... I have finished repainting trim in the main area at least.)

I have a lot of blue and blue/green accents, with rooms off the main area painted shades of blue that are visible. But what I really found to warm up all the white was bringing in pretty wood and house plants, with enough dark accents to kind of ground things.

After the initial shock, and after I started getting the area more decorated I realized I'm SO glad I painted the area white! I've really grown to love it, and I feel my home is getting more cohesive and organic looking than it was before. But yeah, it was a shock at first.

I recently had pretty much my whole house painted a very white white and I love it! It's perfect as a background for art and furniture.
But, yes, it took some getting used to (it was a quite attractive beige before, but this is so much fresher!).

I think the key will be getting some fabulous artwork up. Then you'll really appreciate that white canvas!

All white can be stunning if, as previous posters suggested, you have the right mix of accent pieces. Last year we completed such a project; an entire 2 bedroom apartment in BM white semigloss. This clean slate fit very well with our client's furniture, vases, area rugs, wall-length custom maple bookshelf (shameless self promotion!) and art. Consider adding a dark shaded standing lamp or two and perhaps a small crystal hanging light to cast some texture onto the walls.
