Are you quilting this weekend? Oct. 7-9

I hope to spend some time in my sewing room this weekend. My family was home last weekend but they left on Sat. evening. I was able to sew on Sunday and Monday afternoon. I am working on a Christmas quilt top that was started years ago. I received a kit for twelve star blocks made from Christmas fabric at a gift exchange in my old quilt group. I made the blocks but that was as far as I went with them. I now have the top assembled and just need to add the borders.

Friday is a bittersweet day for me. It is my birthday but it also is the day my mother passed away 12 years ago. We are going to DD's for dinner but I plan to do some sewing too.

What are your plans for the weekend?

    Happy birthday, Linda!

I have a three-day weekend thanks to the hurricane, so I plan to sew today (unless we lose power, of course)! Tomorrow we're meeting a realtor at my Mom's in Lakeland, but I have all day Sunday to sew, too.

So far we've had a LOT of rain and some pretty stiff wind, but it's not too bad.

Happy Birthday, Linda!!! No sewing for me tomorrow.....we have a 40th anniversary surprise party to go to and DGD is picking us up at 9:30 in the morning. YIKES! That's early for me. Sunday I hope to finally complete the UFO I've been working on for a few years.

Probably no sewing until Mon. or Tues. it is our Thanksgiving weekend and so tomorrow will be spent prepping for the turkey dinner on Sunday.

i did get all the blocks finished this week for the Scrap Jar Star quilt and now anxious to set them together. Ran into a slight hiccup in that I ran out of the WOW I was using as the background but I found another piece, a slightly different design, that will work as borders.

Happy Birthday Linda! And a Happy Thanksgiving to you quilters up North!

Its a 3 day weekend for me and I hope to finish the top on the fall quilt my niece requested. I ordered some Moda grunge in cream and wow...love this fabric, it's a beautiful blender. If I finish over the weekend, I'll post a pic.

On the dark side , I need an intervention. I'm falling in love with Liberty fabrics; @ 9.00 for a quarter yd. it's not a fabric I can stash enmasse...I did pick up a quite a few fat 1/8's at half price...a lucky find, but oh dear...I fear I'm hooked...dreaming of patterns ...what should a quilter do? Help :-/ V.

    Can't help you, V. lol

I finished the UFO this morning as I wasn't able to attend the anniversary party. DH represented us and had a good time......but he was gone for 8 1/2 hours.

I hope you're feeling OK Sharon. Sorry you had to miss the party.

Those are lovely fabrics, I can see why you're falling.

I plan on putting together the second set of blocks I made a few weeks ago. Hopefully the friend who finished the other quilt will be ready to repeat.

I have spent the day finishing those 9 patches that I wanted to finish for retreat. I have also packed more projects than I will ever do at retreat. :) I cut my charms for Left Right Center and put together my gift for the exchange. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish quilting the top on the frame. Then I will have two to bring to bind at retreat.
