How does the flavor of limequat differ from key lime?

Vladimir, to me they taste almost identical, but I am not a key lime connoisseur and did not have a side-by-side comparison. It is the best pie though.

Those look so gorgeous Laura! They look just lit from within wow! I am miles away from limequats but maybe key limes in the near future. That pie looks delish, I have 3 fat Meyers almost ready I think I could make a pie with that. Can't wait, could you post your recipe again?

Hobby, you can definitely make a pie or lemon bars with those Meyers, but don't make a key lime pie. I used Meyers in a key lime pie and was not thrilled...too sweet, not enough tartness. I have a great lemon bar recipe I've used for years with Alexander's lemons that has al almond crust - delicious! I'm happy to share it.

Just need to find some time and I'll make my own key lime pie from these. I've seen some recipes with sour cream. Do you think that's a good addition? Another recipe added 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. And a combo of lime and lemon zest might be nice.

Where did I hear that a garlic press is useful to squeeze them?

Edit: Here's the real Key Lime Pie. Recipe called for a layer of whipped cream, but I ran out of time ...and had to use a store-bought crust. Doesn't really need the whipped cream at all. Wow. So yummy. So limey, tangy, yet sweet. Better than at the restaurant.
