My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Shelves or Cabinets?

My wife and I are trying to make a design choice for kitchen. Ours is a U shaped kitchen and has three windows. We are planning to have a contemporary kitchen. The dilemma is if having shelves adjacent to the hood is a better design vs cabinets. This is still in progress but we are planning to design somewhat like the attached pictures.Please advise.

    I never like open shelves near a stove the grease gets on the stuff on the shelves no matter how good the hood fan is
