Looks like a termite to me.

Drywall/dry wood termite...check around for what looks like sand or coffee grounds. You will also likely find wings around where they are.

Was this alive when you found it. I can't tell what the body of this critter looks like, but I wouldn't expect to see winged termites this time of year. We see them late spring here. You might call an exterminator and ask if you could ind them this time of year there. If it was dead already, that may not be helpful.

This is the time of year that drywood termites swarm in my neighborhood. It doesn't necessarily mean your house has termites. It may have flown in from neighbors. I've learned not to call my termite guy until I find the droppings (pellets).

Droppings might be difficult to find if you are renovating creating sawdust, drywall dust, etc.. That is difinitely a termite.
