Rounding corners on a quilt

I'm contemplating the design of one of my next quilts. It's going to be some variation on the "quartered stripes" pattern. I want to use it as a bedspread, but I hate the corners that hang on the floor. I want to round them some way. In my mind, it's going to look "chopped off" on the corners any way I can think of doing it. Is there any way to do it that will look like it belongs like that?

This is the "quartered stripes" pattern. I'm not doing these colors, though.

If you don't want to add a border, would you be comfortable redesigning the corner block?

If you don't want to round the pieced blocks you could add a border or two. I think the rounded corners would look okay on the quilt you have pictured.

I think I would add a border the size of the strips, then a wider border.

I round corners often. But I do it in the border like you said. I'd add the inner and outer border like Bev suggests and round it in that last border.

Thanks for your help. I think I'll just make it smaller so it doesn't drag the floor. I saw the same pattern that was sashed and it looked great. I think I might do it that way, but it is even more geometric, so the rounded corner will probably look wonky.

I have never done this, but I can visualize how it would work and look. Something to consider: For the end of the quilt that would be on the end of the bed, don't make corner blocks. That will leave the length of the last row free on each side to hang down and with the sides free, they would come together forming a box-like appearance. Yes, that would work. I seen those for four poster beds.

If you could make the size work, it would be great. I guess you could always measure carefully and use your square up ruler if you needed the blocks to be a bit smaller.

The more I look at this pattern, the more I question using this fabric for this design. I love the fabric. I'm really stuck on the blue and yellow lately. I saw this on a MSQ video and went back for more of this fabric.

Would it be too repetitive to turn all the squares in instead of alternating? Of course, you can see what it looks like after you cut it, but before you sew it. What if you sashed it?
