every space doesnt need to be filled. this happens in many kitchens, i wouldnt feel bad about it.

Frequently the wall cabinet at the end of a wall is not extended out evenly with the base cabinet for the reason you just stated- you have to have room for the crown on the wall cabinet. This is very common. Personally, I would not do anything with the empty space to the right of the wall cabinet. Once you have your back splash and crown installed it will look fine.

what everyone else said. or,,,the pull out spice rack or rounded corner shelving.

Order an open end shelf cabinet they come in 6", something like this

In any case, they could have extended the last cabinet another 3" and the crown would still work, or the whole 6" and cap the crown at that kitchen location.

You are right the designer should have extended the top cabinet 3" .

i didnt suggest GN's idea because i feel the look is quite dated (and i'm pretty much cool about things being dated....) and didnt want to lead you astray. but if you like those shallow angled or rounded shelves that end a cabinet run, be my guest. but make them 100% removable in case you change your mind. ; )

I think it is much cleaner to just let it be the way it is and not add any kind of a shelf.

@nnigrt Don't worry, no one will leave you after school for not suggesting that:-) Now bellediy has many suggestions i.e new modern trend, mid century trend and ancient trend... I'm sure she will make the right decision what look she will like best ;-)

Hehe thank you all for verity!! It gives me a lot to think about! I might leave it clean and see how it looks after backsplash are in place on Friday. I'll send you guys a picture once it's done:)
