Electronic lock for entry door with glass panel? Safety concerns.

I am installing new doors for entry/exits off my kitchen and basement that will have 1/2 to 3/4 glass panels. I would like to get an electronic lock for the doors (like a Schlage-- see attached pic) so I can use a key or not. However, I am running into the issue that the inside lock is a turn lock and it seems like a bad choice when thinking about a door with glass, since a burglar could break the glass and simply turn the lock to open the door. I spoke with a door company and their only suggestion was to get a keypad for the inside AND outside locations. Aesthetically that doesn't seem like the best choice, but are there other options? What do people usually do when they have glass paneled doors but want a keyless entry option? Thanks in advance!

Code requires that at least one exit door have an interior lock that would NOT require a key or code in order to exit. This is for safe emergency exit when needed from anywhere in the home. We would say that most doors should not be key locks from the interior. Locks only keep honest people out. It is almost never that someone breaks the glass to turn the thumb latch. Most thieves (or people who mean harm to the occupants) kick the door in.

This is very interesting to me. I have glass doors with the lock you mentioned. It has small glass panes set in wood so I'm thinking they would be harder to break. Nevertheless, it is a valid concern.

Thanks! My front door does not require a key or code to exit. But I do have the same concerns about needing a key to exit a door-- I prefer not to go this route but just didn't know another option for safety reasons. I called Schlage and they said they never advise getting an electronic lock for a door with glass, so perhaps I shouldn't be considering this route... Just figured the Houzz community may have some creative solutions!
