I'm making some progress. It looks a lot better now. Still need to address windows and figure out what to do opposite the couch.

I cannot clearly see what the curtains you have up are like. I believe they should all be the same. So i will just present some that would be nice. now i think you might like sheers on the back window. so you could have some whites and then white sheers.

Chairs, I think I now need something in the corner to the right. Also included adjacent dining room photo and the view coming in from front door.

Here is the fabric on the drapes. I agree I need all drapes in this room and the dinette to match. My issue is I'm not in love with this fabric and it would cost over $3000 to make matching drapes for the other three windows. So I'm living with them for now.
My husband won't agree to move the two recliners other than facing the TV :)

I think the room needs more color. I like the curtains you have chosen. A good way to add color would be to add a rug with more color. I think accent chairs could also help with color and more lighting.

Here are a few ideas.

Pull the two chairs away from the wall and closer to the sofa. The rug under the round table is too small. I agree that a rug with some color would be very nice. I like the blue ones that were posted.

Susan, thank you! I agree it needs more color. I messed up on the rug being so close in color to the tile. I also plan to get two accent chairs opposite the sofa. Your pictures are helpful!

If you angled the two recliners a bit, it might take up that little bit of visual space you want taken, or a plant in the corner may be enough.

The sofa in its original location was unsettling because it was not grounded. Move it back to that location. Put a console table at the back of the sofa with two lamps and stools under. Looking at the undecorated back of a sofa is off putting, but the room will balance better if the sofa looks out the doors.

drde i always buy budget things, no matter where they come from. for example all the pillows are no more than $25 for 18x18. always check the prices on what i give. if things don't fit your budget, give us a budget on that item and i at least will look for you while i shop. but i do need guidance as to what direction.

also if you do not like what i put above, let me know and i will remove.

I agree with having fun and be seaside, the couch should face the window as before and, as beseaside said, ground with a sofa table. I like the curtains and suggest you pick one color from the pattern and get Roman shades in that solid color for remaining windows. I hope that helps. Could you close curtains and take photos so we can see your space better? PS. Having fun is a great shopper and can probably find those shades for you if you give her color and measurements!

Another thought: I am guessing there are no outlets in the floor for sofa table lamps if you move the sofa to original place. Big candleholders or vases would give the height needed. Good night.

Thanks everyone, especially havingfun and Kaye1951. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. You are correct that there are no floor outlets. I also can't move the two chairs very far from the wall because 1) there's not as much room as it appears and 2) the chairs are electric recliners and therefore need the wall outlet. By the way, in the future I would never buy electric recliners again. They are too limiting for rearranging.
I am looking at fabric to make roman shades for the other windows. A solid color that ties in with the current curtains. I'll post updates!
