How much of hassle is it to move the lights? Is it a quick fix?

The lights and the mirrors need to be moved up.

So if they raise the lighting 6 inches how many inches above the sink trim should the mirrors be? Thanks!

I find 4-6 inches above to be most aesthetically pleasing when mirrors are not ceiling lengths.

suzy q's suggestion is also nice because it eliminates the harsh shadows vanity downlights cast on faces, which is particularly problematic for makeup.

I'm pretty sure those lights can be installed upright, instead. That would save you a whole bunch of trouble right now.

Stand in front of the vanity and look at your reflection in the mirror. (some people are short and need the mirrors lower). Is the top of your head cut off? Then raise the mirror. The lights should be at least 4" above the frame. If you leave the mirrors as they are and turned the lights "upside down", that should solve your problem. If not, raise the mirror 2 inches and the base of the light at least 3-5" up. This would require moving the electrical box, that's why I said just flipping the lights around would solve that issue.

suzy q possibly but I'm thinking the mirrors should be raised also. This is really the only hiccup we've had thus far so I'd say that's pretty good haha

Beth H yea I'm thinking flipping sounds the easiest at this point. These lights look good pointing down and that's how I've seen them online and in store. Trying to find a picture with them upwards to see what it would look like.

normally the lights are meant to go either way. It should look fine.
