what color are your furnishings? edgecomb gray or revere pewter or thunder all good neutrals

All of that furniture is not mine. I have black media cabinet and a taupe sofa and that's it so far. No other furniture. No rugs. @homeinteriorswithease Thank you so much for reading my question, I am asking about paint. :)

Check out Maria Killiam's blog about choosing colors and undertones. I know you said that sofa isn't yours, but it's very pink and if you paint the walls green gray you probably wouldn't be happy. I'm overwhelmed just now too, trying to figure out colors for our new, to us, house.

Right now, the walls are pink beige. To chose a great wall colour you will need to look at the fixed elements in the home. The paint colours that Home Interiors with Ease suggested would work great (as I agree).

Lucy, you need to decide....beige, grey, green, blue? What would you like to see? Beige or grey for neutral. Green or blue for more specific. It is just paint!! Go crazy.....there is no "perfect" color.

Color can really help define a style...what style is your furniture? I see you don't have any inspiration pictures in your ideabook...your lighting is transitional in your ideabook with maybe a touch of industrial??

we have BM Gray Owl in ours house - it's been eight years and I still love the color.

Just to be clear too, there is also a color Sea Salt in Sherwin Williams. But I am thinking BM Sea Salt since you specifically asked for BM. The BM is more subtle than the SW which is more blue/green. I definitely recommend you do sample boards of several colors suggested here and set them around in your spaces in different lights, morning, noon and evening. They all change colors in different lights. Your light will be unique and we can't tell color accurately on our monitors.

Most of the color suggestions in here are great, so choose whichever you prefer. I'm writing to urge you to repaint your ceilings. The previous owners' ceiling color is far too caustic a white- it's making the wall color look more harsh than it really is. Once you decide on your wall color, look through the Ben Moore whites and find one that is softer on the eyes.

We are definitely getting rid of that mirror! Painter is going to choose the white for the ceiling depending on what colors we choose. Thank you everyone! This has really helped me so much!

I wish we could see your furniture before making a suggestion...but I will give it a shot..this is a home I did for a young couple that loved taupe and black and wanted a more monochromatic look...we did Ashley Gray BM on all walls with decorator white trim and ceiling...

That Media cabinet seem small for such a large family room and TV size....I can help you with new furniture choices if needed...do you prefer a color I. The grays and taupe family with all white trim and ceilings?

If you are looking for a deep rich gray...check out BM Iron Mountain..I used it in a clients kitchen and tray ceilings...if you do white ceilings and trim it will give you high contrast...and you can just about pick any accent color to go with it...I would add a lot of neutral to continue the high contrast in the space with pops of bold color or continue layering of gray and neutral for a monochromatic look!
