First of all let me start by saying that my home is paid for! I have had cancer and have serious side effects and damage from the treatments, so I'm unable to work. That being said, I am grateful for what I have, I just want to make better use of my space. The previous owners of my home added on a kitchen to the back of my house. They put a doorway where the former kitchen window was to then add a beautiful, vaulted ceiling, extremely large kitchen. My house is a 1970's ranch with 8 foot ceilings, so the kitchen really doesn't flow (although it's the most beautiful part of my home). The other problem is that where the old kitchen was is now what i call a dining room/living room combo. The garage door opens up to what used to be the kitchen and is now my dining room. That area of my house is so big! My front door opens up to my den and is much smaller. I've tried moving the den to the dining area but really hated it because i didn't like the flow...having to go from the kitchen, through the den to the dining room. I also just don't like the look of my kitchen entry, look of the dining room where the garage door opens and the small den...HELP!!
