Are you talking about positioning or physical equipment to hang it.
Normally you hang it in a corner, although one designer I have studied under hangs them bang in the middle of the room.
What type of ceiling do you have for the hardware

Thank you for your advice. I was looking for suggestions on how and where to hang. It is a 1960s ranch vacation home with no attic access in the room it is going and the ceiling looks this. Swirls of plaster I guess? About 8ft

You need to find a joist to hang the chair from - these are the wooden beams that helps support the ceiling - something that is going to bear weight and energetic weight needs to be anchored solidly. there is a gadget called a studfinder in major hardware outlets - not easy to use on ceilings - In a 60's ranch the ceiling is probably plasterboard/wallboard - will not hold weight. - occasionally you can detect where the seams(therefore the joists) are by seeing if there are any undulations in the ceiling.
