This is on collarette Pooh, a cheerful warm color guy who always produces lots of big, fat, tubers. In fact, when friends sent me an article about cooks starting to use dahlia tubers in cooking, I thought of Pooh. Although the name might be a bit of a problem.

On digging, it appears that Pooh is a gourmet item in the vole world, too. Other varieties had one or two tubers with similar damage but both of his looked like this.

I may be able to salvage one or two of the tubers on the back side, the damage is smaller and has healed over to some extent.

Pretty gross, eh? Here's one of the blossom. Totally worth it as the POM lady says.
