IMO I would try to pick a more linear piece than that, or two square pieces to go above the trim there.

Hi Patrick, so sorry, I didn't make myself clear but yes this pic is for above the trim. I know some people would do a family pictures but with the trim and window it would not be best for the area. I have had people tell me my home and furnishing is Traditional.

do you think this metal art would look good above the trim?

thank for your suggestion and input

Is everything else in your home more traditional? The chandeliers and plantings clash in style with what you are looking at. Sorry I didn't see the note before that are are looking to buy two of those pieces.

Yes I would say so. Here's a few more pic of the area and I do agree with you on the plants and the Chandelier, the plants will be gone once I figure what to replace them with. Any ideas really appreciated.

i have replaced 14 light fixtures already but have not decided on 2 of the chandeliers i have left.

sending you more pictures of the area where the ugly plants are. All the trim -woodwork is staying.

I have another question is it ok to up a area rug over carpet....dinning room table.

    REALLY APPRECIATE any input.

    thank you

re: your area rug question, yes, you can almost always put rugs over carpet - it's a great way to break up a space. Maybe a hazel/green rug (just drawing some inspiration from your mona lisa)?

As for the posted question, I definitely like the sort of abstract industrial look of the piece you picked, and I think it could work, but I'm not so sure about it matching the rest of your things. Maybe a large decorative mirror instead? Or a tapestry that invokes the other colors in your space?

Thank you for answering my area rug question, the coffee and end tables are going I would like to add a oval glass & chorme coffee table and end tables. The living room is narrow.

    what are your thoughts

Would Mona Lisa go ok with the abstract or should Mona be stored for awhile and a sun burst mirror be up in place.

im trying to redecorate so in a few years when ready to sell its not such a big expense.

    Thank you

A grouping of large colorful pictures would be pretty and wouldn't be a cleaning issue like a sculpture could be.

Colorful jute rug? Hung horizontally. Lovely, yet inexpensive large art.

Thank you a great idea and it would cut down on the dusting, but again a framed picture...what color of frame, I do not want wood Color I all ready have an overload of wood though out this house and won't be painting it.

what would you suggest for pictures?

i did have two large beautiful wall scones there a year ago but repainted the entire house and not going back up so I sold them.

    thank you

Find the art you love first - sometimes great posters can work. Let the framer help you pick a frame that compliments and that your love.

Thank you I will definitely consider that I have other walls I may do that.
