No it would show it off more. Whitish color paint as this will give a larger look to your bathroom.

I think painting the vanity white will look sort of off here. I would go with espresso and sleek silver hardware. Good luck!

Paint the vanity white or grey, change the countertop and then paint the walls whatever you like. That is probably a pretty standard vanity, and you can buy a one-piece unit from say, Kohler, relatively inexpensively. Why work around something ugly that is so easily changed?

Nope. Something has got to go. Which do you pick? Top or floor? The wall paint needs to be sorted after you decide.

why on earth would the previous people pick that flooring w/that vanity?? lol. for a quick fix, change out that hardware,,,pronto. If you can, paint the vanity white or an off white. Get a more modern fixture and probably a light fixture, that I can't see, but I'm sure is stuck in the 90's.

It shouldn't be that much to redo the floor. My handyman would redo the floors for $250 labor. You might need baseboard after that. Really the floor is off. The vanity just need refreshing and new pulls.

That floor looks like a HD tile. I'd go to HD and purchase anything to replace it, as two years is too long to live with it.

That granite was not $$$ - it was cheap because it was a remnant of an ugly slab that some stone guy was only too happy to get out of his shop!

I bet if you make some simple changes you can live with this room as long as needed.

Hey at latifolia, That's not a remnant as it is the time the home was built, no the price is not much as you can tell of it. Is the kitchen cabinetry the same look?

If it's all going to be gone in a couple of years, get some peel and stick tile...your eye won't be drawn to it...

I'd just paint a soft white on the walls and forget the rest. You have two years to carefully plan what you want. Why waste money now?

Peel-n-stick tile costs less than a dollar each. Painting the vanity - takes minimum paint, say $15.00. New cabinet hardware - $3 to $5.00 each.........Priceless for feeling good when walking into the bathroom.

Plan A- Replacing the tile floor or the vanity countertop wouldn't be worth it for two years. Remove shower curtain and rug. Prime the walls in white. Then pick a fun new shower curtain, perhaps in gray/carmel/white. Paint the walls a color or simply an off white that will go with the shower curtain's colors. Add some art. Cost under $100.

Plan B- replace the vanity now with the one you want for two years from now. Cost $1000 and up if you want quartz that matches what you have in the kitchen.

Plan C- Cover the floor with a washable cut to fit rug from JC Penney Any color you want. Cost under $100.

Is the floor tile or vinyl?

I actually like the floor, it isn't as bad as the countertop. I would replace the countertop, paint the vanity (grey or navy blue) and then paint the walls in a lighter shade, like a nice soft white. Change the handles and put a glass door on the shower. I would also replace the toilet paper holder and towel holders, they also need to be updated.
