We are building a house and have a rather large open area that we would like ideas for layouts of a kitchen, keeping room or sitting/sun room and breakfast nook/banquet area. The original plan was a kitchen and bedroom/bathroom but we opted to leave it one large space and have this big open area. One thing that is important is a large island, we entertain and use our current island all day. We had a friend suggest not having the sink in the island as it is an eye sore when entertaining. We do actually like the idea of not having it in the island but not sure where else we could work it in. We have also purchased a large 6ft wide refrigerator/freezer which is becoming difficult to incorporate. Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.
