Black--it brings out the darkest parts of the wood grain, and the brown grout is really light compared to the tile.

Dark brown unless you are going very industrial and have lots of other black metal details. Brown is much easier to go with any style. The black is more of a statement. I wouldn't use the tile to make a statement. It's too permanent.

Neither! I would match wood as close as possible. Let the wood be the star not the grout lines.

I think I've only seen grout that matches the wood tile used with this type of tile. Probably because you don't want to emphasize that it is tile, not wood.

Thank you! I've been told to match with the darkest grain in the tile. I do want to mimic hardwood as much as possible, so I don't want light grout lines which scream "TILE." These two colors ARE the best matches of the grout colors seen so far. They both tie in with the darkest grain of the tile, but I'm having trouble choosing between the two. Thanks again!

Hey There: Depending on your style, you can have the tiles installed much closer for a minimal grout line. After that you have to opt for the dark grout - this will blend in much better - a light grout will just pick up to much attention and the lines will dominating the appearance of your floor...Good Luck on your project

You need a redder, slightly lighter brown. Not either of the two that you show. Match the main body color of the tile. MAPEI Flexcolor CQ in Mahogany maybe.

Hi. Just wondering which grout color you decided on and if you have a picture. I am building a house and am using walnut creek. I am leaning towards black but everyone I talk to doesn't think it will look well. I would live to gear what you think. Thanks!

Hey Brittany and Nawaf: I just finished my bathroom with wood tiles and minimal lines. What the contractor actually did is putting some of the grout powder between the layed tiles and showed me the difference. A bag is about $14 and is worth all the money to find the perfect grout color... Good Luck

Old thread but...

When choosing dark grouts there can be issues if installer is not familiar with them. When inexperienced installers mix too wet or use too much water there can be shade variations throughout the floor. Sometimes darker grouts are actually harder to keep clean as they always show white dirt.

Somebody mention Mapei Flexcolor and it is a good grout as color is dead on and there is just about zero color deviation. Again you need an installer experienced with it as it needs two people when doing a large floor

Choose the lightest closest to the tile color.

we used mapei chocolate grout also. My floors are almost 5 months old and the grout lines have become slightly lighter. Definitely use a dark grout

Dark brown. If you squint at the black grout the grout lines are a strong contrast that will pop as lines across the entire floor. Going slightly lighter on grout blends into the flooring.
