I'm so glad she is finally here. Does the dog know she's replaced him yet? Congratulations, Sue. She's beautiful.

I am just plugging along with usual holiday chores. I am even keeping up with Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt. I must dream up another project by the time that one's over.

Here's wishing you all a good holiday if I don't get back on the computer much. My quilting friends are the best.

Heading to my parents' house for family dinner tonight...hoping the ice continues to melt. There were terrible accidents in the area early today.

I continue to take a few minutes here and there to work up sections on my DWR quilt. I'm hoping to have dedicated time for that tomorrow...and next week. We are officially 'off' school until January, though I still have considerable shopping to do, too.

I'm just hanging around the house finishing the top to the crazy, colorful "Fiesta" quilt. When I have only a little time and a little initiative, I'm making 4.5" by 10.5" string blocks out of scraps that are less than 1.5" wide at at least 5" long. I'm really having fun with them. I rifled through my paper recycling for paper that I could cut as foundations. I've got about 10 made already out of the 48 I need for the String-X Quilt.

We had a Christmas house party last night and another one tonight. Tomorrow is my chorus's holiday concert, and then we're having friends over for dinner. My DH is cooking osso buco, a yummy Italian veal dish. I did manage enough ambition to make five types of cookies this year, so I'll have a dessert to serve.

I think I will probably have most of you beaten in the COLD department. It's supposed to be 25 degrees below zero by morning here in Minneapolis with a wind chill factor of -45. What kind of a nut would live in this climate?

I have been working on the Mystery Quilt today. I am almost finished with clue 4. I hope to finish the clue tonight and then start wrapping gifts tomorrow.

Yesterday I went Christmas shopping with DD and her girls. I mostly watched the girls while she did the shopping. The girls were picking out gifts for Daddy.

Ohhh Charlotte is just beautiful!!! Congrats to all of you! Grab every second of snuggles that you possibly can!! That sweetness leaves way too soon.

No sewing here. Weather is awesome - mid 70s and clear - balmy breezes from the southeast. My 'sewing room' is the dining room table, so with the holidays close at hand, it has to be packed away. We do not anticipate anyone here for any 'event', but there are those who might just drop by. My preps are small this time; my mother in law - almost 95, we'll bring here for Christmas Eve and Christmas afternoon/evening. Our daughter is having Christmas breakfast so we'll go there for a few hours - cutting my prep time down!! (It's okay! I don't mind passing the baton!).

Maybe I'll have a few minutes to do a little sewing during the week, but will TRY to refrain!! Hope you all have a great weekend and fun with your preps!!

What a beautiful baby! Now the fun begins, girl clothes, doll clothes, etc.

We received 8" of snow last night, so church was canceled. I've had a fun snow day getting ready for Christmas.

I finished the apron to mail off tomorrow and am heading to the sewing room to get a border on the throw. Will also do some FMQ on the wall hanging (a Lotto winning).
