Are you quilting this weekend?

I think I am ready for Christmas. The gifts are wrapped and I just need to make some cookies and Chex mix. We won't celebrate with the entire family until next week and are going to DD's on Christmas day.

I probably won't do much sewing this weekend If I do, it will be to work on the next mystery quilt clue. Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

Not quilt sewing. Started a cross stitch birth announcement for GGD#2, who is due next March. I am searching patterns for her quilt. It must be pink.

wishing everyone a very happy holiday season.

no quilting for me - we arrived in Arizona today and will spend 2 weeks with our moms and family. Next week I will cut quilts for my mom. We have a few last minute things to pick up to be ready for Christmas, but the best gift is spending time with our family.

No sewing for me. I'll be cooking and spending time with family.

We have church tomorrow night and some kind of vague plan for Christmas day. As far as I know it doesn't involve me having to cook anything! LOL I have Monday off, so I plan to keep working on the Quiltville mystery tomorrow and Monday.

I'm "contemplating" quilting - does that count? I'm trying to find a pattern that I can cut the fabric for from my stash and then take to Hawaii to work on over the winter. I'm trying to go scrappy, but somewhat color-controlled. I might have found a couple of Bonnie Hunter's patterns that would work, but I have to see if I have the right scraps. I'm not making very fast progress. Since I won't be bringing my stash with me, I have to make sure I have all the fabric necessary and cut it before I go. Since she doesn't give yardage requirements, it's quite hard to get it all organized up front. I'll keep working.

The happiest of holidays to everyone!

Lois, obviously you need a "Hawaii stash" too! LOL Too bad most of the airlines charge for bags now - if they were free you could just sneak in an extra one when your DH isn't looking.

Donna, I found the perfect pattern. It's Bonnie Hunter's Star-Struck. It uses just 2.5" strips and squares. Star-Struck I'm making a lap size quilt in browns and neutrals with dark (dusty) red accents. I think I have the perfect border fabric for it too. I may need to buy some red for the inner border although I may have enough to piece a narrow scrappy border from some fat quarters that I have. I'm pretty excited about it now that I've decided what to do. I've been cutting and sewing all evening. It's 1:20 am now, and I've got to go to sleep. Big day tomorrow.
