No quilty gifts for me this year. My daughter is working on a beautiful knitted stole/collar for me though. She's quite the knitting maven.

I got lots of quilty gifts. Got a drunkards path LocBloc, laser pointer and ruler base for the Nolting, and rulers, carpet protector for under my sewing chair. I have lots of new toys to try out this week.

I like the idea of the carpet protector. Nothing yet, we're celebrating next weekend when the two daughters come to town.

Beverly, how do you like the carpet protector? I tried two different ones from Staples. They work fine at work where there is industrial carpet, but I found my home carpet was too thick and even the heavy-gauge carpet protector flexed too much.

Donna, I like mine, but I have a low carpet in the sewing area. The previous owner used it as an office and we just left his industrial carpet in.

We are having our family Christmas on Friday. No quilty gifts from DH this year.

My carpet protector has grooves from my chair and won't let me roll around smoothly. Do they make one for thicker carpet?

Two packs of the salt and pepper thread collections from Connecting Threads...just sent the link to my niece and bingo. And on Tuesday my husband found a quilty book he ordered for me in his office desk drawer....so well hidden he forgot! Nice book..."the quilt block cookbook" from Amy Gibson of Stitchery Dickory Dock.

I will say last year my niece got me my all time favorite quilty gift. It's one of those wall adhesive sayings .." when life throws you scraps, make a quilt"
