Ha Sue, that is cheating! Happy New Year to all. I probably will not be awake at midnight, But I do plan on making the traditional southern black-eyed peas (I call them dirt beans, because i think they taste like dirt.), turnip greens, corn bread and stewed potatoes for tomorrows dinner.

Thank you - and to everyone, Happy New Year! We are having a quiet evening with my mom and will watch a movie and celebrate New York New Year's ... 10 pm our time!

So thankful for this forum and the friendships I've made here.

Jackie - not really! Like they say, it's 5 o'clock somewhere! We always celebrated New York New Year's when our son was little and we had a get together with all the neighbors. We had 7 kids born the same year on our block - it was always fun. They are all 31 now and most of them STILL stay in touch! Our son & his wife said they hoped they could stay awake until New York new year's tiime with their new baby! Early dinner out with friends for them, then home to bed!
