I'm not sure what part of the room you want help on. The one thing that jumps out to me is that your built-in/TV unit could use some actual books mixed in among the knick-knacks...

It's very common for people to decide they like a certain item or look and then repeat and repeat and repeat. I see at least 3 large round objects on your walls. That detracts from them all.

Curtains are a lot too short. Why you do that? You might be able to add a border at the bottom to get the length down to the floor.

Try moving the table behind the sofa up to be like an end--even with the front of the sofa arm on the left. Will that block a walk way? Can't tell what's going on with that wall or the shelf and indentations in the wall. More pictures might help.

As I mentioned in my dilemma, sectional did face the other way on French door wall so now that I moved it, I have to address the curtains. Couldn't see the bottoms before & we don't use the doors. Yes, table at end of sofa would block walkway. Built in white shelves were put there to cover water pipe for hot water heating.

Move your little white console table with the lamp to the wall to the left of the French doors. Replace it with a large piece of art.

Can you move your large checkered chair to kitty corner of the sectional? Looks crowded where it's currently placed, just doesn't 'work' adjacent to the sectional.

The sectional totally kills the sociability of the room.

Change out the "granny" fan and the skimpy drapes.

Can you move the rug and lounge up slightly towards the centre of the room. Place the white table under the round wall feature to the side of the French doors. Move the small side table near the lounge next to the check chair.

The mirror you made was the giveaway. I remember working with you in 2012/13 when you were originally doing this room. That arrangement lasted a good long time! I still think some of my suggestions back then could be incorporated now. You might want to re-read that old dilemma to see.

The drapes were working back then, so just lower them and repair the wall.

I see the armoire is still on sliders. I think it could work here, so if you want to use it try it left of the French doors to serve as a counter balance to the TV center. If it is too wide, you can try angling it in the corner there. I don't think the white console table is wide enough to put below anything except the picture you now have there. I'll go back over the previous pix to see if we did anything else with it in our experiments. Is the rug centered with the windows? It seems to be a good fit for the sectional but maybe a bit skimpy for the room now that you've moved the seating. Can you center them both with the windows, or will that put you too far from the TV for watching? Have you considered moving the TV center? Here is a chart to determine good viewing distance.

With the sectional adjusted, we have more options with the plaid chair. Once the corner behind it is cleared out, we can move it closer to the stacked pictures and set up another reading corner with it. Or you can can move it closer to the white table and angle it to face toward the French doors with its back to the entry. If you move the white table to the center of the larger part of the wall, the chair can sit to the right of it, pretty much where the table is now, and angled toward the French doors again. See if this works for you to help get the end of the room integrated with the carpet part.

We' could come back around to this arrangement. Sofa is better centered with the windows, but no rug yet in 2012. Put the plaid chair here in the foreground and move the white table down where the other chair is. See if the blue piece is too wide to hang above it.

Where is that glass-doored buffet now? Would you want to bring it back but in a different spot (further left on the longer section of wall, or where I suggested the armoire? We've had success shopping through your home, so maybe we should continue with some furniture flipping. With all your nice things we have so many options.

Yes Deco, Same room:) And I did make the mirror. I brought some things in and rearranged in different ways as suggested. I also took pics of different off pieces I have. If I used the armoire I would have to paint...I don't like in natural~ it looks drab to me but a good fit for that space. I like the chair better turned toward tv for viewing. I also included pic of glass display but I like it where it is a space by dining area and don't have a nice piece to replace it, so I don't really want to bring it in this room. I could see using that armoire if it looked more coastal. Suggest away!:)

Love that cute little desk! Would it slip behind the back on the chaise part of the sofa? I was asking about TV placement because I thought it might work well opposite the windows. Well worth it to have another option even if it means moving the cable connection. Would you say the accent color here is the blue from the chair, big art piece and one of your throws? You could paint the armoire that color in chalk paint with a slightly distressed finish. Valspar's chalky paint line has a color called Trousseau Blue that looks like it might be a good choice.

Thank you:) The desk was my husbands' aunts. I would love to use it in here but the wavy back sticks up several inches when placed behind the chaise part of sofa:( The throw is more of a gray and cream. The chair is blue, cream and taupe and painting has blue's, grays & whites. Ceramic lamps are more of a grayish. I'll check out Thousseau Blue and I think chalk paint would look awesome. I think the right color would really bring that corner to life and pick up the blue's, grays, white & cream.

So if I went with armoire in corner-painted and the layout of the 2nd pic for the other corner with chair nearer stacked pix and round dark table with lamp to left of it, artwork over it...do you think we'd be getting close? Not sure about the round dark table...

Can the armoire in the second photo showing a snippet of the armoire go to the left of the French door. If not do you have room to add a small bistro table or game table (round) and chairs in the space to the left of the doors?

Yes, that will work, and the armoire will be beautiful once you find the right color. You might keep your eye open for some bluish glass pulls and a little chair for the desk if you use it here. Paint the chair the color of the armoire. They might do well in your master bedroom if you have a spot for them.

@ radar 2, The mirror I made using a think plywood backing cut near size of final size desired. I used cardboard boxes that were broke down flat and cut accordion like. It's what is used as packing for heavy items. The small inner mirror I bought at hobby lobby. Surrounding the mirror is a piece of rope

I dipped cardboard in liquid starch and started attaching to plywood. Used staple gun to secure the wet cardboard to plywood and to keep it in place as I worked around the piece of plywood. It's basically like paper mache. After all cardboard attached and secured with staples, I cut the edges with scissors for the decorative starburst look. Let everything dry...it took a few days, then spray painted with both silver and gold metallic paints for the finish. The inside mirror was the last thing I glued on. I had traced it's shape on the plywood prior to starting which was my guide to lining up the cardboard as I worked my way around. Since there was a small space between the cardboard and mirror, I used the rope to hide the space.

I would think you could also use paper if you folded it accordion like but it would not have as much texture as the cardboard.

There was a mirror I spotted in an expensive magazine but couldn't afford. I think it was molded of resin. So I put my thinking cap on and improvised;)

Not sure if this is final color of armoire, will have to live with it for awhile. It mimics the variation and color found in the deer antlers. Went with creamy/ beige/gray mixed color as I went, with paints I had around the house and a bit of distressing. Blue or gray may have competed too much with other shades of blue/gray colors in room. Will see how it looks in different lights at different times of day. It does brighten the corner though.

A few adjustments

Looks nice. I think I still prefer more color to it, but you can work up to that when you want to or have the paint on hand. I would add larger pieces of decor on top if you have them. What's the wreath made of and where did your custom mirror go?

Thanks Deco:) Agree, will work up to more color. Probably obvious my comfort zone is cream/white and beige basics and add color with accessories..lol I had a couple of the bigger metal pots so changed them out and had the sign. Do I need use something different than the pots? Should I lose the sign? The wreath is a thick grapevine that's been painted grayish. Mirror is actually still hanging behind armoire but will find a new home in bedroom most likely:)

The wreath is about the color I was thinking for the armoire (or maybe more toward the blue in the chair.) I'm not a fan of signs; I think they've worn out their welcome! I like the tray though.

lol, I'd already taken the sign down and thought the tray looked better as well. I'll live with this a bit while looking for the perfect color and pic up a sample of the Trousseau Blue when I get a chance:) How is your table coming along?

I think my table may need one more coat of poly. Slightly disappointed that it says "satin" finish but is a bit too reflective for my taste. Too late to change it now and it will mostly be behind the bed and not readily seen from the doorway, so I'll learn to live with it. This is the 3rd treatment for the table. Originally mahogany, then fuschia, then lime green and now gray! It's been a goodie! I'll post it soon.

Think of adding some colorful pillows and wall art. I think a Susani wall hanging w/ red tones would add texture and pop.

Also consider ramping up the texture. Consider adding some sheepskin throws. Houzz has lots of great articles on adding textures w/ neutrals. Consider adding fresh flowers or white moth orchids.

Seems like a small detail but why is the tall cabinet pushed against the wall? Center it on the wall. Move it out from the wall an inch if you're trying to give enough space to turn the lights on and off. It will give better balance. Looks like it might be able to scoot right at least 4 or 5 inches.

Must be the angle I took the pic from leelee. It was about a ft from the wall on the left. I scooted it a couple of more inches over.

I'm sorry to not be of any help on this topic but can you tell me where the sectional couch is from?

Too many different styles are happening in the room. Change out the hokey fan/light for a cleaner style that won't cast shadows on the ceiling. The drapes are too skimpy: widen them and take them to the floor. At the top, they could go either right to the ceiling or to just above the casing.

The sectional is Van Gogh.
