We finally took the plunge after a couple of years in this home to make the master bath exactly how we wanted it. We rarely used this bathroom as it was felt cold and uninviting, we mainly used the hallway bath. The only thing that was new from the previous owner was the vanity but unfortunately we couldn't make it work. I didn't make any changes to the layout as it was not large enough to accommodate a tub and the one thing I really wanted was the ease of having dual sinks so my husband and I don't have to fight over the sink as we tend to get ready for bed at the same time.

I was trying to go for a timeless traditional, yet semi glam without looking too girly so I choose marble finishes, chrome fixtures/lighting, beaded mirrors to bounce the light around and chair rail moulding. The skylight brought in enough natural light that allowed for darker walls and floor without making the space feel closed-up and claustrophobic. I love all everything about it esp. the herringbone shower floor tiles which took the longest to find because of imperfections and discolorations from lot to lot.

All items were from big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes to keep the budget down.
