Wow, that's a loaded question - it would be best if you posted photos of your kitchen, living room, family room, master suite, foyer etc. to get a sense of the space. How "farm" is the farmhouse, and how modern do you want to go?

This really is a question for a professional to come out and see your space to guide you to the end result. Having literally hundreds of opinions online through Houzz will only confuse you.

I'd post photos of as much as you can, along with a floor plan if you have one - otherwise, spend just a bit of money on a consultation in your home with a professional and either a) hire him/her or b) get as much out of the consult as you can. Have a photograph of your dream space so that the professional can assist you in getting the look you are after!

where / how you want it to look when new furnishings and lights are in?
