I agree about the mirror. Also, you have a lot of options where chandeliers are concerned. From your wording that your friend is "pushing" you, I would say you already know you don't like that. However, Beverly did a good thing posting a bunch of different styles. They don't have to be traditional, just because they have shades.

Bear in mind that "transitional" is a combination of traditional and contemporary. You can have a piece that fits in either category and the room will still feel transitional. It is hard to see the furniture pieces in the room, and also the wall color. Better images of those might help us provide more helpful advice.

I had to laugh at your red "X". I know---have to get that out of the room. I like your top two light fixtures. Probably the second one the best, only because the white might be too drastic versus the beige. I'll add a picture in the daylight for a better view if the room. I really appreciate your suggestions!
