What color/style dining rug? help

We're slowly moving into our new house and I'm getting rid of our current furniture and redecorating. I like a transitional style, modern rustic industrial if that's a style :)
That being said, we need a rug under the dining table to protect the floor, yet I can not for the life of me decide on a rug. I tend to like neutral colors to the point of boring. But I want to be adventurous and try something new only that's pretty challenging when my eyes always drop on something boring and neutral. Please help! Suggestions with pictures would be great!

This room will eventually have white shiplap on the wall and some console server cabinet and a new industrial lighting fixtures. The windows will have a grey sunshade over them. Don't think I'll do drapes this time.

Modern/rustic/industrial design would really embrace the "no rug" suggestion from calidesign, but there are two other good reasons: 1) your little children. Why mess with spilled milk and cereal on a sisal or any other rug? And 2) you would still want something on the wall. Find some artwork that you really love. It will last, enhance the space, and be a good investment.

If you like neutral colors, you can introduce some texture with a sisal rug.

If you want to add some color, it should connect with the colors you have (or want to have) in your adjoining spaces. I would suggest going to a good rug shop, and looking at options. You may come across something you love that you hadn't considered.

Or skip the rug, and invest in some beautiful drapes, chandelier, and artwork instead.

Don't go plain, love these rugs, love black and white rugs, I've just brought a big Vebra rug for under my dining table and just love it. A beaut piece of art. Love what you have so far. Could see big black lantern or orbit chandeliers over that table

I have a FLOR rug under my dining table and I love it. They have to endless style/color options, you can order samples, sizes are customizable, and the materials are perfect for under a dining room table. www.flor.com (I swear I don't work for them!)

I seriously am in need of colors more than brand names and such. I don't really care what type of rug that is as long as it matches with what's I've got going on and it's easy to maintain. Do keep in mind I've got 2 small kids so easy cleaning is also a good criteria.

Id love pictures to see what you guys think would work also more than places to buy because I can do that research myself. I'm also not planning to spend more than $200 on it since Ive got tiny humans so it needs to be very affordable and disposable if it comes to it.

Try indoor out door rugs and since I have no idea how large the room is or the table it is hard to know if a rug will fit , you need to keep in mind that the chairs pulled out need IMO 30” past the edge of the table on all sides where there are chairs . FYI that table IMO is abad choice for seating you can’t put anyone at the end and I have to tell you no one I know wants to sit on a bench for dinner and please do not do shiplap it has already had its day

For me "Persian" carpets go with everything, will last longer than your new hose, hide gravy stains and never go out of style.

Dining space is 12'x12', table is 8' so any 10' rug should do it I'm thinking. The reason for the rug is protecting the wood flooring because these darn white chairs have very small leg contact and they will leave sink marks into the floor.
I grew up with Persian rugs and while they're beautiful, they've lost their appeal to me after so many years of experience so definitely an indoor/outdoor rug would be the smart way to go for now until the kids grow up (and by then we might be in a total new house :)).
I have saved some rugs in my Idea box, but not sure these would work color /pattern wise.

After hours of searching I landed on these 3 choices. Don't hate if they're very similar and very neutral, I did say I have a problem with that. Now, which one would you day would go best with the dining room pictures posted at the top? Thank you!!

Any of those rugs will be fine for style/color, but an 8x10 won't give you room to pull out your chairs with an 8' table. Your table will only fit in the space if you put all your chairs on the sides and not the head of the table. You may be better off skipping the rug and finding some good pads or caps for the chair legs.

Update. This is how the dining room looks like now that we moved in and I managed to open some of the boxes :) still needs some work and the bench on the other side is still in the garage in the box, the solar shades coming soon too.
