damn at 19.95sf thats out of the question. i needed 10 tiles was quoted $375 with shipping

Considering the thickness and rarity of the tile, it's not a bad price. Packaging with shipping that will most likely come via freight line vs ups or fedex, still not a bad price.

Depending on what the whole fireplace looks like, maybe you could do a single slab of some dark stone. Try to coordinate without looking like you tried to match and missed.

Just curious as to why you removed the tile that you now need to replace?

it was old small cermaic tiles 2"x2" and were scratches very bad

Looks like you're doing some major work here with a whole new floor. That fireplace with its cheap molding around the surround is totally underwhelming anyway. I'd just redo the whole thing. Do a proper surround and matching hearth, with or without a mantel depending on what style you're aiming for.
