Are there colours that you're thinking of? I like the funky red chair actually. Will that be going too?

Sorry to keep asking questions (oh, by the way, you can delete a post only a certain time after you've put it up here, I don't know how though), but is your sofa a sectional?

In any case, I think that the best way to start here is to look for a rug that you like. Then you can take your colour cues for paint and curtains, pillows and other furniture from that.

Have you seen any rooms here on Houzz that you particularly like? Or rugs that you like? Your room is pretty much a blank canvas, so...

I'm nt quite sure what kind of rug goes with my sofa, and the sofa goes all together. And I would like to have a bigger coffe table, we use the living room for parties or watching sports and wa like to eat here

If you take away the red chair and the red pillows, you have a fairly neutral modern basis that you can do a lot with.
When you said that you use the room for watching sports, parties and for eating in, I had an image of a zebra design rug, black and white with browns and a touch of orange maybe in my head. Not at all like the cool, sophisticated ice blues :-)

But I don't see why this elegant, cool look won't work with your sofa. I do like the funky panther print pillows that they've added to spice it up a bit.

I suggest you look for a rug that you really love, see if you can try it out in your room or at least order a swatch to see how the colours work with your sofa. Take you cue for the rest of the room from that rug. If you find a rug, you can always post the photo or link on here and we can give you our 'vision'.

You just need a starting point, because you have such a blank canvas. It is a very interesting room. I like the window to the other room in that wall and the shapes with the roof.

Good luck with that Gaby. There are millions to choose from, but I think you have a style in your mind that you'd like to go for, so that helps. Waiting patiently to see what you come up with :-)
