Where should we put the TV?

Any ideas on where the TV should go? Originally thought about lowering fireplace but that may be too expensive. The pictures are if our home staged before we move in. We will probably flip the L couch. I would like to get a bigger TV (60ish if it works with space) and also have an Xbox. Lastly the cable hookup is behind that mirror above fireplace so seems like builder intended for it to go there but it's so high!

Lovely home. I wouldn't put a sectional in that room. A sofa & 2 chairs are more versatile. The only other possible place for TV would be on a media console where the art is

It seems like tv is important (us too) so make it so. I'm not sure what type of fireplace that is, but it looks like it could be electric rather than gas? If that is the case just move it to your bedroom or dinning room and put the tv where it should be on that wall.

Good point Kate. Seems like the fireplace is the elephant in the room here! You can't always have everything can you!

Can you flip the sectional and put it in the corner where the artwork is now? Such a lovely space. :)

This probably is a bad idea, but what if you had a custom built shelf installed to cover the fireplace? It could be metal to go with the decor and if you ever changed your mind and wanted the fireplace again, you could move the shelf.

But it would have to go in front of the fp and that might take up too much room. It would be as tall and wide as you want. I would guess it could go up to just below the mirror. You could remove the mirror if you wanted since it's hiding the cable hookup and put artwork on there or keep the mirror. Since you would like the tv lower, there could be a shelf at the right height.

There could be a back to the shelf or it could be open except for the area just in front of the fireplace.
