So, I recently purchased a beautiful seedless Lisbon lemon tree with lots of foliage and a few flowers barely two months ago. I brought it home, and when I began to take replant it, I noticed an atrocity! The tree was terribly root-bound and it was planted in clay soil in its nursery pot. I transferred it to a slightly larger, terracotta pot in some store-bought potting mix, and hopefully that will allow excess moisture to escape. The tree has since produced more flower buds and fruits, but I have seen no new foliage growing on it as of yet. I fertilise it every two weeks with a little bit of organic water-soluble fertiliser, just as I do with the rest of my citrus, which I have had for far longer and which seem to be thriving. Is the tree not growing because of the soil it was planted in in its nursery pot? What can I do to encourage new leaf growth and prevent the tree from dying?
