What height crown molding for 8ft kitchen ceilings

We are redoing our kitchen and ordering RTA cabinets. We were planning on doing 39" wall cabinets with 3" molding above. I recently read that standard is 4" molding. Anyone have strong feelings on wether 4" is truly better from an aesthetic standpoint?

With an 8 foot high ceiling the 3" molding will look good.

agree, or go with 42" cabinets.

I also have 8ft high ceilings and I did 39" uppers that are flush with ceiling (my upstairs neighbor did 42 inch uppers and she has very little space between her lowers and uppers). For molding I did a 2 inch flat molding to hind any spaces between the cabinets and not a perfectly level ceiling. I'm happy I didn't do a bigger molding, because I think it would have been too much and 2 inches was more to scale for my kitchen.
