I had Oakwood cabinets and maroon countertops what kind of backsplash and wall paint will brighten up my kitchen

I would do subway white tile and a very light beige or light khaki wall color

What size is the kitchen and is there a stove or oven somewhere?

It's 74" x 81" It's a wet bar not a kitchen. Meaning there is no stove or oven. The main kitchen is on the floor above. This one is just for entertaining guests after dinner. Several feet away is the patio. It also provides assistants fro BBQs. Hope this helps
