May I ask where you purchased your seed? You obviously recognize and know for certain you're growing 'Red Robin'. I have started what is supposed to be Red Robin but the seedlings look awfully large to be this variety of tomato. I thought I might try seed from a different seed source and compare. I don't want to waste a lot of growing time, only to discover I'm growing something other than Red Robin.

My thanks,

Mary

I bought mine off of Amazon two years ago. The source I bought from no longer sells them. I have found to be a great source of seeds in general though.

Thank you. I'm wondering if perhaps the person who sold me the seed had their Red Robin tomato blooms germinated by bees who carried pollen from other types of tomato blooms and mixed it in the blooms of the little Red Robin. Is this something that could happen, causing the resulting fruit seed of a Red Robin tomato to be a mix of two varieties of tomato?

The seeds might have been mixed up.

I bought some plants a few years ago from my local garden center and put them in pots.

I was pleasantly surprised that such a small plant could produce so many tomatoes that were of a fairly decent size considering the plant was only about a foot high.

A pot of these would be an ideal gift for an apartment dweller who has a small, sunny deck.
