GE Cafe or Kitchenaid

I hear the GE cafe dual fuel range is great, however the Kitchenaid fridge is great... the kitchenaid range doesnt have great reviews (especially simmering on the gas range) and the GE fridge doesnt review as well as the kitchenaid, there styles are quite different. should I got all kitchenaid or all GE? or mix and match? any comments suggestions

This is just my experience, but we had GE Monogram fridge and oven in our last house, and now we have a Kitchenaid fridge and a 5 Star range. I miss my GE appliances!

I got all Kitchenaid & I love them. They all work well & the look is modern & expensive. I agree with you about the simmering on the gas-it is very hot so you have to watch it BUT the centre burner is small so I recommend using that one. We have had them for 2 years and have not had one single problem.

I had bad luck with both my kitchenaid fridge and range. I also love my ge

Stay with one brand with the same style. We have had Kitchenaid for a year now and are very happy. We have an electric range.

In my vacation home (which we rent out during the summer) I have a GE Cafe electric range and microwave with a Kitchenaid french-door counter depth refrigerator and dishwasher. The range, microwave, and refrigerator are all fine after 4 years. The dishwasher is very loud, and the plastic rack had to be replaced ($300) because of really cheap plastic parts. It also had a recall. I'd get a Bosch DW if I had to do it over again.

I also have GE Monogram range, oven, speed oven, and range hood. They all work great, along with the Subzero fridge and Bosch DW.

Diana reminded me of another thing to consider: all lines within a brand are not created equal (GE Monogram vs. Cafe, for example)...as if this is not confusing enough! ;) And my Kitchenaid fridge is over 10 years old, so there's that too...

You can miss match so long as the style is the same. My refrigerator and dishwasher (on the same wall) are Samsung. The range and microwave above it on another wall are Electrolux. All stainless and no one has ever noticed they all don't come from the same appliance package.

IMO you buy appliances for how you want each one to function for you not because they match or you got a deal for a package So go to good appliance store and ask 1000 questions and have a list of waht you want from each appliance for how you cook. This is why stainless is always a good choice all makers have it and they all look fine together

We bought all KitchenAid last year when we remodeled. Did a lot of research. There is not a brand out there that doesn't have its share of negative reviews. We Love everything we bought. No problems so far, but it's only been a year.

We have a KitchenAid fridge that came with our new house. I had the misfortune of dropping a jar which made a nice dent on the top of my freezer panel. $600-$800 for a new panel, not installed. So, be ready to pay through the nose for any replacement parts on a KitchenAid/Whirlpool product.

KitchenAid/Whirlpool is a brand that IMO has went downhill in the last 10 years. My $700 stand mixer's gears were stripped after about 20 uses (just for cake batter, frosting and cookies, nothing like bread batter). My $200 KitchenAid blender had a cracked pot after maybe a dozen uses, and my $400 food processor also had a cracked pot after about 20 uses. The price they charge for replacement parts is atrocious. I have switch to mostly Breville, replacement and add-on parts are much more reasonably priced.

I miss my Bosch appliances from my old house. They didn't have all the bells and whistles some of these other brands have, but they were solidly built.

My personal experience with Kitchen Aid has been great. I had them in my previous house and currently have them in my new home. I would highly recommend them.
