Well, yes, you can do gold cabinet hardware, but just so you understand you're doing the complete trend package which means you're putting a time stamp on your kitchen and it will have to be redone sooner because it will become dated sooner. You're hitting every single trend. Usually spaces look better if they touch on a trend but not every item is it's own trend.

If you're going to go trendy, cabinet hardware is a great place to do it! I did gold in my master bath with classic chrome plumbing fixtures and I love it! I figure when I get tired of them in a few years, I'll just spend $100-150 to replace because everything else is classic.

Yes, brushed brass (gold color) is beautiful on cabinets, and doesn't have to match the faucets. If you love it, do it, and who cares if it's not "trendy" in a few years?
