I am not sure if you would want to consider this. The Kohler Whitehaven undermount "short apron" front sink might work. The apron is shorter, though the inside is just as deep as the "tall apron" style and can usually be installed on a standard sink base. It is a self facing apron front sink, so is one of the easiest to install. If for some reason it did not work with your cabinet doors, you could curtain the front. It is about $850 online - be sure to order the short apron style if you have a standard base.

I love the farmhouse sinks but I'm afraid of the reviews about cracks and chips. What do you all think?

The Whitehaven is cast iron. The concerns about chips, crazing and occasionally poor drainage are from the fireclay sinks. That said, cast iron can chip - though it won't craze or crack. I had a cast iron sink for 18 years before my Whitehaven and never had a chip. I've had my Whitehaven only 10 months, but it looks as good as the day it was installed. I know from my old sink that as years go by it will stain easier, but with my old sink I just gave it a few squirts of Clorox Clean Up every night, 40 seconds later rinsed and the sink was bright and white again. If there is ever a scratch that is a bit stubborn, Bar Keeper's Friend took it right off.

Nmp19 I love your sink and tile. Did you have the sink refinished? Is the tile original?

Everything is original. I regrouted the tile myself 20 years ago. We have lived in this home 32 years and we are the second owners. The first owner was meticulous. The sink is completely original. I don't have a dishwasher because the kitchen is too small and we would have had to rip out the original cupboards.

80 year old tile, sink and cabinets. Lucky me!
