If you're replacing your Viking after 10 years because it's gone kaput, maybe Viking's not the best choice for a replacement. My 48" Sub-Zero is 17 years old, and when it goes, I'll be replacing it with another. BTW: None of my appliances is the same brand: Miele DW, Thermador range and SZ fridge.

@Sammy, my thought as well - we bought a home that was previously a vacation rental and my guess is that folks didn't treat it like their own. Thanks!

The online comparisons/reviews can be confusing with pros and cons all over the place. Best thing to do is look at features you like vs. brand. You likely won't get the quality that was there 15-20 years ago.

Like Sammy, our stainless appliances are different brands...KitchenAid, Thermador and Whirlpool. No problem.
