Hello, I just got this lovely at the store yesterday, I was wondering which type of echeveria it was to research how to give proper care, would anyone know? - thank you :)

Same as other plants you posted: well draining potting mix, drainage hole in the container, excellent light. Water when potting mix is almost dry...

Hi Rina, thank you for the reply. I was asking for the plant ID though..

Sorry, this is what I read:..." which type of echeveria it was to research how to give proper care"... Yes, you did ask for ID, but all succulents need what I posted, regardless the name.

Thank you, makes sense. I'd still want to know its name so that I can properly identify it and I like researching them to learn more about the specific kind, if they flower or not etc..

It looks likes a hybrid between an Echeveria and a Sedum called an xSedeveria. The parentage is not clear and I cannot pinpoint any particular parents.

I share your passion in knowing the exact specie or cultivar. I'm OCD like that. LOL This is why I joined the forum in the first place. Unfortunately, some of these succulents are more challenging than others to identify. Try browsing some websites like this LINK or others similar to that. Also, if you have the original pot with the label, you might find the grower, like Altman, San Marcos, etc and you can go to their website to learn which cultivars they specifically grow. Best of luck!

Lol Chris, that's a line I say quite often (OCD) haha! Thanks for the tips. The original pot with label says "echeveria"

The leaf shape resembles that of Graptoveria 'Debbie' but the color is off, and the leaves (in my opinion) are too chunky to be echeveria. If it turns purple in bright light we may be on to something.

Thanks Patrick!! I think you're on the right track!! I just researched Graptoveria and I think it looks quite close to the "Opalina" - Yay, nay?

Here are a few more that I came upon to that look alike

Emssiee, I bet yours would start looking either like the first pic or the one posted by Kara once you give it more sun. Also thanks for posting the pic for the Pachyveria glauca 'Little Jewel' you just solved another mystery NOID succulent off my list. LOL

Honestly there are so many hybrids of these plants that you may never get a positive id, more sun will help, or get it to flower, that's your best shot. I'm still leaning towards my original guess, but Graptoveria 'moonglow' looks close too and they are very common at the big box stores right now.

I second that first part Patrick... I don't even bother to get a perfect ID for these.

I was just thinking that while I was sitting in traffic today:) Echeverias and their hybrids can be almost impossible to id sometimes.

I might just get one of these then... ;)

I didn't read anything about it but do not think it is for purpose of ID-ing pants....DNA isolation (not identification)?

Dammit lol, my joke totally failed! I also didn't read it until now, maybe I should have.. I saw DNA & plant and thought it would be about identification :P

Oh Emssiee, sorry I didn't get the joke!

Hello everyone, just thought I'd update you with my mysterious succulent. It has been in direct sunlight at least 4-5 hours a day for as long as I've had it, and its color still hasn't changed a bit! I guess she's just one-of-a-kind after all ;-)

    Cheers

Lookin good:). One day you will be at a nursery and see your plant. You will then finally get your id. That's happened to me:).

If you really wanna be OCD go back to the scene of the crime and ask who they buy from, the grower likely has a website and likely doesn't grow that many types of echeveria/graptoveria etc.You could also email the grower and ask for the ID, some are nice like that. Although, there are so many types that growers don't even know what they have:-)

Yes. It is a crime to sell un-labeled plants.
