I think something like this would be pretty cool with your console.

I would hang your TV first so you have the placement and size, and then hang two pieces of vertical art on either side. No shelves. Let the beautiful console table and art provide the interest. Or paint just the back wall of the alcove a deep blue or charcoal gray, to make the TV disappear and the console stand out.
