I would stick with something with no back & fits nicely in the space & clears the doorway so your not constantly hitting it with the door when entering the house.

Yes, it appears when someone comes thru the front door; it looks like the door will hit the bench. It's certainly is a pretty bench though + I love the art hanging above it. I like the idea noted above to put a narrow long table in lieu of the bench-perhaps another spot to place your bench?

Too big and art should be a vertical instead of horizontal piece.
